I was working on the invitation for our next show, Michael Kessler. It is a kind of forest through the trees kind of project. One can get so focused on the minutia, that one misses the point. I’ve known Michael for nearly 10 years, I’ve been to his home many times, he’s been to mine. We share a love of words, and science fiction, but also of art. That’s when it hit me, at just how good an artist he is. The subtlety and beauty in his work takes me away. I sold one of his works today, and I was actually sorry to see it go. That’s not how an art dealer is supposed to behave. But there it is. There is just something primal about his work, they just speak to my gut, and I can’t explain it better than that.
