The Best Part of the Job – New Art

Eva Cellini, "Dark Forest" Oil on Panel

Eva Cellini, "Dark Forest" Oil on Panel

It’s true, the best part of being in a gallery is the art.  And the best part of that, is new art.  When an artist brings in or ships a new work to the gallery, it is a kind of Christmas in July thing.  You open it up, and there it is – a new life.  Well maybe I exaggerate a little, but it is a great moment.  Today was one of those days.  Eva Cellini, a spry 86 year old, sent us her latest work.  She doesn’t paint very fast, so it is always great to see a new painting from her.  But this one was a great surprise – a haunting jewel.  It is called “Dark Forest.”  the title is fitting.  It is a story, but you don’t know what it’s about.  I’m not going to spoil it and give you my interpretation, go ahead and write what it means to you.  I’d love to see if I’m close.  (click comment above).
Eva Cellini is a fascinating artist and person.  Read more about her, and see her work online:
