Ann Korologos Gallery presents When the Snow Falls, Nature Listens, a group exhibition inviting the viewer to discover the interaction of light, shadow, and wildlife in snowscapes and nocturnal paintings, prints, and mixed media works. View the exhibition February 4 to March 1, 2023 at 211 Midland Avenue, Basalt, Colorado and on korologosgallery.com.
“When the Snow Falls, Nature Listens is an opportunity for the viewer to observe the world through the lens of an artist, to take a moment of stillness, to feel the quiet of snow, and to imagine what one might hear should they stop and listen,” shares gallery director, Sue Edmonds. “These artists step out into the cold to depict the beauty and light of the season, an act for which we, the viewers, are grateful.”
These works illuminate the colors of winter; these artists celebrate life and movement in a time when the world is often lo as still and subdued. Ewoud de Groot, Sherrie York, Paula Schuette Kraemer, Diana Woods and Dinah Worman present the wildlife of winter in their respective paintings, pastels, and prints, reminding us of the beauty to be witnessed in the cold, and who is there to see it.
Dan Young, Brett Scheifflee, Deborah Paris, Leon Loughridge, Sabrina Stiles, Cap Pannell, Linda Lillegraven explore the landscape to paint en plein air or collect reference photographs, seeking soft light and magnificent snowscapes. Rick Stevens, Simon Winegar, Veryl Goodnight, and Peter Campbell convey the mood of the winter season in a surprisingly vibrant, colorful palette, their eye seeking the color of light on snow, exploring the contrast of shapes interacting with blankets of snow as their subject.
Discover the many colors of snow as the mood, light, and vibrance of winter comes alive in Ann Korologos Gallery’s When the Snow Falls, Nature Listens. On view February 4 to March 1, 2023 at Ann Korologos Gallery, located at 211 Midland Avenue in Basalt, Colorado and represented online at korologosgallery.com.
