Arts & Antiques Magazine describes Poole’s work as “Old world with a contemporary edge.”
Poole is as complex as his art. He works primarily in oils, but began his art career as a sculptor. One cannot deny the fresh originality of his work, the b
old brush work, the intensity of color, and the imaginative scenes. His paintings invite speculation, contemplation, until one is transported to
Poole’s dreamy world. Quite successful in his art career, Poole has never been content to sit still. He works constantly, sometimes on large luminous landscapes, then on tiny Plein Air jewels, sometimes on sculpture collaborations with his artist wife, and later on tightly rendered still lifes and portraits. Indeed, sometimes the detail is so fine, it would require a magnifying glass to find the brush work. Poole is all these artists mixed into one unique and fresh talent. Private and public collections include: AT&T, Coca-Cola, HarperCollins, Lexus, Norton Art Foundation, Shreveport, LA, and the Museum of Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX. Prices range from $800 to $16,000.
