The Ann Korologos Gallery in Basalt, Colorado presents Colorado Color, a group exhibition opening with an artists’ reception on March 11 from 5 to 7 pm. The exhibition features paintings, prints, sculpture and ceramics by seven accomplished artists, including Peter Campbell, Veryl Goodnight, Peggy Judy, Amy Laugesen, Nathan Solano, Simon Winegar and Michael Wisner.
“ Color is such an inspiration for all artists. But Colorado offers a real bonanza. From the earthy reds of the land to the brilliant golds of the Aspens in the fall, to the prismatic dance of reflections on the snow, Colorado IS color.” — Julia Novy, Gallery Director
This presentation will also include three new artists, printmakers Paula Schuette Kraemer and Sherrie York, and painter Rick Stevens; marking the first exhibition of their work at the Ann Korologos Gallery.
As a premier gallery of western contemporary art, the Ann Korologos Gallery showcases modern western artists with a variety of strategies and media. Artistic styles range from the Plein Air landscapes of Peter Campbell (Durango) and Simon Winegar (Farmington, UT) to the historical story-telling of Veryl Goodnight (Mancos) and Nathan Solano (Pueblo) and the expressive equine art of painter Peggy Judy (Lafayette) and sculptor Amy Laugesen (Englewood). Ceramic artist Michael Wisner (Woody Creek) stands on his own, a master of shape and precision texture made manifest in clay.
As with all the gallery’s exhibitions, Colorado Color will be visually exciting and tempting with many fine examples of art you love to live with. Colorado Color will be on view March 11 through April 14, 2016.
