We are pleased to share this Elsa Sroka feature from About Boulder, highlighting part of the artist’s background, her inspirations, and some of her works. Please read a preview of the article below.

Elsa Sroka is a Colorado native from a large family that shares the love of art and design. Mostly self-taught, Elsa continues to fine tune her skills and experiment with the constant flow of new ideas. After a previous career spanning three decades, she forged ahead into the art world and never looked back. This seemed like an obvious natural progression, as she had always practiced art in various ways. Elsa has been taking more time and putting more thought into why she paints, what she does, and what really sparks her creativity. She is hoping to expand her current bodies of work. Cows have been largely the main focus of her paintings, but now she’s ready to add something new.

“There is something I absolutely love about the juxtaposition of old and new, traditional and contemporary, classical and modern and animals among humans. This is not uncommon in the world of design. Mixing styles has always intrigued me.”

“I paint because I need to. I am a constant observer of people, nature, and all my surroundings. These are the things that spark my imagination and creativity. Painting is a journey—always learning and challenging myself with more, never being satisfied with the way things are and allowing my instincts to guide me. In my cow paintings, I strive to capture their spirit and infuse each with personality, keeping them fresh and contemporary. Color invigorates my imagination and relaxes my mind.”
