Basalt, Colorado — Ann Korologos Gallery is proud to announce the appointment of Sue Edmonds and Claire de L’Arbre as co-owners as of Dec. 1, 2025, marking a new chapter for the renowned gallery as it enters its thirty-third year. Edmonds, who has served as Gallery Director since 2019, and de L’Arbre, Marketing Director since 2017, have long worked side by side to guide the gallery’s vision, artist relationships and cultural programming.
With Edmonds and de L’Arbre assuming ownership, the gallery now celebrates its third generation of women owners, continuing the gallery’s tradition of women at the helm and reinforcing its commitment to creative excellence, community and continuity.
“It is our honor to uphold the vision of this gallery as a cultural hub to connect a community that values a world enhanced by creative expression,” said de L’Arbre and Edmonds in a joint statement. “Our shared vision is to deepen our support for contemporary artists and continue cultivating a space where the spirit and stories of the West thrive. Our desire, which we shared with Ann, is for every interaction with this art, the artists and our community to bring delight, beauty, connection and knowledge to each person with every visit.”

Sue Edmonds joined the gallery as Director in October 2019. A native of Australia, she’s a global traveler and longtime Roaring Fork Valley resident whose passion for art, design and adventure has shaped her life and career. Her deep connections with artisans around the world helped guide her work as owner and designer of the Melange Collection, an Aspen-based company offering globally sourced and curated gifts and home accessories. Inspired by her love of printmaking and photography, she has continued to refine her artistic eye through open studio sessions and classes at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass. With a strong track record in online marketplaces and years of running her own business, she brings both entrepreneurial savvy and a genuine love for the Roaring Fork Valley to her role at the gallery, along with valuable experience discovering, developing and championing artists. “Whether I’m creating art, viewing art, selling art, or having meaningful conversations with artists about their process, I truly love every part of it,” Sue reflects.
Claire de L’Arbre joined Ann Korologos Gallery in 2017 as Marketing Director, bringing entrepreneurial expertise and a deep commitment to the arts. A Babson College graduate with a degree in Business Management with an emphasis in entrepreneurship, she moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 2011 and went on to found a PR, marketing and consulting company supporting arts- and purpose-driven organizations which she runs, with the gallery as a client. Claire previously managed Harmony Scott Jewelry Design for ten years and currently serves as Marketing and Development Manager for Aspen Journalism, a role she will continue. A creative practitioner herself — exploring jewelry making, glassblowing, studio arts and exploring mediums at Andersen Ranch like silk screening — Claire has long been dedicated to helping artists share their work, a passion sparked at sixteen when she organized her grandmother’s first exhibition. “I believe in the courage it takes to create and lead, and in the joy that comes from seeing creativity valued, shared and celebrated,” shares Claire. “Artists change how we view the world. Become familiar with the style of an artist, particularly those that depict the magnificence around us, and you’ll never look at a landscape the same.”
The gallery was founded as The Basalt Gallery in 1993 by Jody Ensign and Susan Manchee, with Nina Pedersen later joining as a partner. The late Ann Korologos, a close friend of Ensign’s, an avid collector and a widely renowned businesswoman, purchased the gallery in 2006. Several years later, Korologos moved the gallery into the former bookstore on Midland Avenue in historic downtown Basalt, establishing what is now Ann Korologos Gallery in its current location at 211 Midland Avenue under the clocktower. With each chapter, the gallery remains a cornerstone for contemporary Western art and a champion of the artists and landscapes that define the region.
Ann Korologos Gallery, located in the heart of Basalt, remains dedicated to presenting dynamic exhibitions, fostering meaningful connections with collectors and elevating the voices and perspectives shaping the modern West. Ann, the gallery’s namesake, coined the phrase “Art you love to live with,” which is exactly what you’ll find visiting this gallery in historic downtown Basalt.
